Acting Play Dates at Playhouse Northwest!


WERE BAAAACK! 
Happy Summer from Playhouse Northwest Acting School! 

We are SO EXCITED to announce that we are offering four upcoming “play dates†that will keep your acting chops tuned up and ready to roll this fall. 

This series of play dates is open to actors of all skill levels. 

Each class starts with warm-up exercises that branch out to Meisner basic foundation work, improvisation, and scene work. A rotating schedule throughout the series includes:

  • cold reading skills
  • emotional preparation
  • script analysis
  • and on-camera skills

At the end of each class, audition and resume feedback is available to students who have upcoming auditions. 

The dates are as follows: 

Thursday, July 27th, 11-1:30PM

Thursday, August 3rd, 11-1:30 PM

Thursday, August 17th, 11-1:30 PM

Thursday, August 24th, 11-1:30 PM

Fee: $125 for all 4 classes (Each class is 2.5 hours long.)  

Pay as you go/Drop in rate: $40  

Registration: To register call the Playhouse Northwest Office at 206-938-3375. Space is limited. 

*Scholarships, military discounts, and sliding scale rates available upon request

Summer 2017 Kids’ Acting Camp a Success


A group of people standing around in a room.Mission Accomplished!! We cast ALL the kids for their movies today! Quite the feat with the incredible number of kids this year. ( 45 to be exact!) The bigger feat? They all loved their parts. Life is good!!!

Happy 4th Birthday Playhouse Northwest Acting School!


A group of people standing around in a room.For four years Playhouse NW has served the acting community and has given actors a safe place to work at their craft. It has been called the “actors’ gym” (literally) and has given actors a place to work out, develop professional skills, and build confidence in their work.

Not only has Playhouse NW provided on-going training but it has brought to the Pacific Northwest the most talented and renowned acting teachers in the country. We have a lot to celebrate. To thank the community for their continual support over these past 4 years we are offering 2 FREE Acting Classes!

  • Thursday Afternoon, June 15th, 11:00AM-1:30PM
  • Monday Evening June 19th, 7:30-10PM

All are welcome.

In addition to class we will be offering delicious refreshments and fine camaraderie. It’s sure to be a great time!

Students Perform at Brookdale Assisted Living Home


On March 16, Masters Joe and Lisa Skvarla and several young students from Lee’s Martial Arts demonstrated Taekwondo and self-defense techniques at Brookdale Assisted Living Home. Lee’s Martial Arts takes great pride in giving back to the local community!

Divine Shadow Series nominated for Best Action Adventure


On March 18, Lisa attended the Vancouver Web Fest in Vancouver, B.C. Playhouse NW’s web series Divine Shadow Series got nominated for Best Action Adventure.

Lisa Skvarla Visits Playhouse Pasadena


On March 5, Lisa traveled to Playhouse Pasadena to see the play “God looked Away” with Al Pacino and Judith Light. Afterwards she met and talked to a few of the actors, including  one of her favorite actresses, Judith Light.
