Lisa Skvarla said, “My heart is overwhelmed with love and joy from the inspiring support of our acting community. Thank you so much to everyone who came to the class and the after party too. I couldn’t imagine a more perfect way to celebrate our birthday and to end the 2019 spring quarter of acting classes.â€
Music video “Feel it to Heal it†was released on YouTube in May 2019, in conjunction with Mental Health Month. The music video features artist Marc Silber (marksilber.com), and was filmed in Seattle, Spokane, and Coeur d’Alene. The video was produced and directed by Lisa Skvarla of Playhouse NW and edited by Kathryn Skvarla. Director of Photography was Aaron Castillo. You can see the video here:
Playhouse Northwest Acting School is excited to announce that WE ARE EXPANDING! We have had so much excitement about Playhouse NW that we decided not to be bound to one location. Playhouse NW is now a school that travels across the Pacific Northwest and opens its doors to people from Seattle, Washington to Coeur d’Alene, Idaho!
Our reputation for excellence will continue and now we will be able to reach more people! In Seattle, we’ve found a better venue that’s more appropriate for acting, theater, and film! Our traveling school will go across the Northwest to better serve the needs of our acting community, without the limitations of geographic boundaries.
We will continue to be a school with a diverse curriculum and stellar guest instructors. We will update our curriculum based on the needs and interests of the community. And if you’re an instructor interested in teaching a class at Playhouse Northwest, please email Lisa Skvarla at: [email protected].
Our classes are open to people who live in the Pacific Northwest, and people who are planning to visit. Check out our spring and summer schedules. To register or for more information, call 206-919-7407 or check out the Playhouse Northwest website at playhousenw.com

Get the best of both worlds! Both camps have been so popular over the years we thought, “Let’s take the best parts from each camp and combine them.” Kind of like peanut butter and chocolate; two very different tastes that complement each other beautifully and just work.
Often young actors are encouraged to learn new skills, and with Kids’ Half and Half Camp not only will they improve their acting skills but they will learn a valuable new skill set for the industry. And for those who love martial arts they get to utilize and demonstrate their skills and put them on camera. Their fight choreography scenes will be taped and viewed in class. They will be educated on acting, safety, and their best camera angles for their scene.
This week-long camp includes:
In addition, students will learn the very important skills of self-defense (for real, not acting) in the Personal Safety portion of this camp. And of course we cannot forget our traditional favorite field trip to the bowling alley and the ice cream social.
